The new, fully electric Mercedes-Benz eCitan will celebrate its debut on Wednesday, August 25, at 15:00. It will be available on the online media platform Mercedes me.
We have already forgotten that the name Citan is made up of "city" and "titan". So we're talking about the city's titanium. This has always been and will continue to be the case. Therefore, it is safe to say that the brand's DNA - compact external dimensions, excellent handling, perfect security systems and extensive functionality - will also be the main features of the new eCitan.
The compact size, combined with the wide-opening sliding door on both sides of the car, as well as the door at the rear, still makes it easy to use for both passengers and cargo. This car can accommodate up to seven passenger seats, or, if necessary, equip it with various original baskets, partitions, a total of 150 types of various special equipment, designed to personalize this car according to customer needs. Therefore, this hero of the city adapts to any owner - a baker, a merchant, a craftsman, a farm manager, a guide, an organizer of sports activities, and everyone else.
Previous-generation Citans key feature – standard for all models – is the electronic stability program ADAPTIVE ESP® that takes the vehicle's load into account. This innovative dynamic handling control system combines the functions of the anti-lock braking system ABS, the VDC (Vehicle Dynamic Control) and the traction control system (TCS). It also covers the ASR acceleration skid control as well as drive and braking torque control and the associated sub-functions. The Citan also shines as standard with anti-lock brakes ABS, Electronic brake force distribution EBV, Brake Assist BAS and start-off assist. The latter maintains the brake pressure for a few seconds after releasing the brake and thus prevents rolling backwards after a hill start.
Finally, Citan has so far been famous for its economy and performance. For example, the standard consumption of CitanBlueEFFICIENCY is 4.3 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers. It also "shines" with a particularly long maintenance interval of 40,000 km. No other city van with an internal combustion engine can compete with the Citan.
