On the other hand, the traditional SUV elements can be clearly traced in the model – muscled wings, huge wheel arches, a high beltline and impressive clearance. Perfect machinery and equipment
The GLE Coupé is driven solely by powerful multi-cylinder engines: the power of one diesel engine and four petrol engines is within the range of 258 to 585 HP. The engines come with a nine-speed automatic transmission 9G-TRONIC and a special seven-speed sports transmission AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7G-TRONIC, allowing constantly assertive dynamics to be combined with excellent fuel economy.
The GLE Coupé standard model comes with steel springs in the suspension, yet AIRMATIC pneumatic suspension with adaptive shock-absorbers can be installed on any version as well. The modern suspension with large-sized wheels (with 20, 21 or even 22 inch discs) provides excellent comfort and grip.
As its class dictates, the GLE Coupé is equipped with the most up-to-date active and passive security systems. These can be complemented with the DISCTRONIC PLUS adaptive speed vigilance system which operates in conjunction with the steering assistant, the Stop&Go Pilot system which makes driving easier through traffic jams, PRE-SAFE with a pedestrian recognition function, an active blind spot assistant and a lane keeping assistant. To make driving easier after dark, the GLE Coupé comes with super powerful diode lamps, while parking in a city parking lot is facilitated by a 360º camera and a designated electronic assistant.
The interior of the car provides unlimited customization options: leather finishing can be combined with wood or aluminium elements, and passengers in the back seat can enjoy the same luxuries as people in the front seat – climate control, multimedia etc.
An astounding practicability
The spacious interior of the car is able to accommodate up to five people. The GLE Coupé has a back seat that is the widest in its class, and the spaciousness of the car can be even further expanded with a panoramic glass roof.
It is not common to associate coupé cars with practicability, but the GLE is also very special in this aspect: the maximum volume of the trunk for this model is 1650 litres, which is a world record for coupé cars.
AMG with a smashing dynamism
Mercedes-AMG models are a special category of cars, with the GLE 63 Coupé being its very conspicuous representative. Depending on the version – Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 Coupé 4MATIC or Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S Coupé 4MATIC – the engine has either 557 or 585 HP, with its maximum torque reaching either 700 or 760 Nm. The GLE 63 Coupé is able to accelerate to 100/km/h in 4.3 or 4.2 seconds.
To realize the huge potential to its fullest extent, the GLE 63 Coupé incorporates several specific technical solutions. For example, torque is spread between the bridges in a proportion of 40:60, which supports sportive driving; the car has stronger brakes; the steering system differs from that of the GLE Coupé; and the pneumatic suspension allows customised settings.
